Lead Frontend Developer

We are looking for a Lead Frontend Developer to join our team and take ownership of frontend development for our product. You will be responsible for defining architectural decisions, shaping the frontend technology strategy, and, over time, leading the technical team.

Your responsibilities:
Frontend Architecture

  • Designing and maintaining a modular frontend architecture.

  • Keeping the tech stack up to date and introducing modern solutions.

Delivery Ownership

  • Sprint planning: prioritizing and estimating tasks, distributing workload across the team.

  • Supporting task decomposition: breaking high-level goals into clear, actionable steps.

  • Ensuring the team delivers planned tasks to production on time.

  • Monitoring process quality and proactively improving workflows if something blocks progress.

  • Sprint review and performance evaluation: summarizing results and defining improvements for future iterations.

Technical Team Leadership

  • Managing a weekly delivery rhythm: planning, progress tracking, sprint completion, and results review.

  • Team development and motivation: 1-on-1s, performance evaluation, code reviews.

UI Kit Development

  • Building and maintaining an in-house UI kit in collaboration with designers and the product team.

Product Development

  • Developing new features for web and mobile applications.

  • Supporting and evolving existing components.

Marketing & Product Tasks

  • Working on onboarding flows, A/B tests, and marketing experiments.

Integrations & Experiments

  • Integrating external services and experimenting with new tools and technologies.


What we expect from you:

  • 5+ years of frontend development experience, including 2+ years in a Senior / Lead role or higher.

  • Proven experience leading a team, estimating tasks, and evaluating performance.

Hands-on experience with:

  • Frontend: React, MobX, TypeScript, Next.js.

  • UI: development and maintenance of a custom UI kit.

  • Integrations: OpenAI and other third-party services.

  • Infrastructure: AWS, CI/CD with GitLab Pipelines, backend collaboration (Django, PostgreSQL).


Soft skills:

  • Ability to work autonomously and manage your own workflow.

  • Strong sense of ownership and initiative.

  • Ability to propose and justify a frontend technology strategy.

  • Genuine interest in the product and long-term growth with the team.

  • Understanding that the role is not only about writing code, but about delivering predictable outcomes for the entire team.

  • ~20 people in the company overall, across different functions.


How we work:

  • We work in sprints, adapted to a startup environment:

    • Weekly planning: tasks are defined, estimated, and assigned on Mondays.

    • Flexible iterations: tasks may be adjusted during the week if truly urgent.

    • Daily standups at 12:00 GMT+4.

    • Grooming sessions on Fridays to prepare tasks for the next sprint.

    • Key meetings: all developers participate in discussions around planning, prioritization, and task reviews.
